Rule Reminder: While sparring, any student of any rank can and should ask their partner of any rank to slow down, hit more lightly, etc. When sparring, take your opponent’s size into consideration, as well as age and skill. For example: adults need to be able to go to work and not be injured or visibly bruised, so they may want a lighter level of contact than you think.

Weekly Challenge: Positive attitude in all things! When the instructor says we’re doing pushups, cheer! When your mom asks for some help with chores or cleaning, smile and say, “Okay!” When a teacher asks you to help someone who’s struggling, give that person your full attention. YOU get the choice, YOU have the power to feel happy or unhappy–it’s all about what you tell yourself inside.

Weather Cancellation Policy: If school gets cancelled in the Stanwood-Camano school district due to weather, NWSMA classes will also be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on our Facebook & our Twitter. Not all of our students live in Stanwood-CamanoPlease don’t take risks to get to class if the weather is different where you are.

We welcome feedback on our website and our teaching! Feel free to email us if you have a comment or question.
