Class this week is on a normal schedule ALL WEEK. If you filled out a self-evaluation last week, please look forward to getting it back. I’ll also have a blog post up around Tuesday with some of my thoughts on the whole process.
Promotions: Congratulations to our newest advanced yellow belt!
Tournament Practice: If you’re thinking about doing the tournament on March 29th, choose your 2 forms. Practice at least once every day, if not 3-5 times, for each form. A form takes less then 2 minutes to do (usually), so this adds up to a mere 20 minutes if you do two forms 5 times each. If you’re going to spar, work on angles, combinations, kiaps, and control. Calendar notes:

Friendly Reminder to Adults on the Sidelines: We love you! Seriously. *You make this journey possible for your children/grandchildren.* We would like to request that you refrain from “helping” your child while they are in class (unless they’re hurt, obviously). Struggle is a valuable part of the learning process, and NWSMA instructors & assistants are more than capable of successfully guiding your child through class. Thanks for your understanding! :)
Weekly Challenge: This week, when you are confused, instead of saying, “I don’t understand,” try asking a question.
Weather Cancellation Policy Reminder: If school gets cancelled in the Stanwood-Camano school district due to weather, NWSMA classes will also be cancelled. Cancellations will be posted on our Facebook & our Twitter. Not all of our students live in Stanwood-Camano. Please don’t take risks to get to class if the weather is different where you are.
