This week is on regular schedule Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, and Sat. July calendars are available in class, please use them!! The class bingo board is heating up, any bets on what the first bingo will be???
August 12-16 is Summer Camp!~! This year’s camp is going to be very exciting, and is the first time we’ll be opening it up to the public!! Check out the details or sign up in class.
Summer roadtrip to TMA! Tuesday, July 23rd, we will be making a visit to TMA Overlake for advanced class, which is 7 pm to 8:30 pm. Brown belts and above OR adults (18+) of any rank are invited! PLEASE sign up with Sensei YDN Caitlin so we make sure she has enough seats. Stanwood/Camano peeps, we’ll leave at 5 pm, and make a stop in Smokey Pt./Arlington to pick up our neighbors, departing hopefully by 5:30ish. Please have dinner before you get in the car OR bring dinner to eat on the way. I also recommend bringing a water bottle and a post-workout recovery snack.
Rule Reminder: Unless you have been asked to help or are a black belt, please do not give instructions or corrections to other students in class. Black belts who are assisting the main instructor should quietly correct individual students if necessary. Take into account the age, rank, and personality of a student when choosing your tone of voice for corrections.
Weekly Challenge: We’ve been seeing round kicks that look like side kicks and front kicks that look like round kicks. Take some time this week to work on your basic kicks: front, round, and side. Remember what Bruce Lee says: “I fear not the man who knows 10,000 kicks, but the man who has practiced 1 kick 10,000 times.”
Summer Bingo is in progress and several squares on the group board have already been crossed off! Get your own personal board in class and start playing. When you get an individual bingo, bring it in and we’ll let you lead 5-10 minutes of warmups that day. Get another bingo? Same thing!
When the class gets a bingo, the instructors will bring ice cream! Summer Bingo runs through August, so have fun in the sun and come to class!
Now that the weather is nice, please wear or bring shoes you can run in, as we sometimes go outside for a jog or warm-up games.
